Mukilteo Bathroom Remodel | Mary Hansen Design

This Mukilteo bathroom remodel was part of a larger project. The overall remodel combined two existing first-floor bedrooms, a bathroom and closet reallocating the space to become an ADA compliant master bedroom and bathroom suite.

ADA Compliant, Curbless Shower, De Gournay hand painted wall paper

The limestone counter-top, supports a shallow sink that sits on top of the counter. The counter height and space below allow for wheelchair clearance.
The pocket door leading to the first floor hallway was widened for ADA compliance.
The curb-less shower includes many ADA compliant features. A pivoting door accommodates extra space for assisted showering, grab bars on interior walls and a pivoting grab bar parallel to glass door.
Mary Hansen designed this ADA compliant toilet alcove. The alcove is wider to accommodate grab bars and wheelchair access. Wall mount toilet allows for custom toilet height.
In order to allow for extra light a taller window was installed. The ADA required grab-bar spans the window in the entry to the toilet alcove.
The De Gournay hand painted wall paper adds elegance to the master bathroom,
Mary Hansen designed these vintage Japanese terra-cotta pottery sconces and shades. The sconces were fabricated by Landbridge lighting. The shades were sewn by Kathleen Mullaney.
Storage was built into the partial wall between the shower and toilet alcove.
A Japanese motif is prevalent in the custom sconces.
The hallway cabinetry is located directly outside the bathroom pocket door for easy access and storage.
The pocket door between the bedroom and bath is an ADA compliant width.
