The kitchen was gutted back to the framing. We enlarged the entrance to the kitchen off the main entry hall. This opened up the main floor of the house creating views to the living room and center stairwell.
We removed the wall between the kitchen and a small study, combining two spaces. This opened the room to south facing light. A bar and pantry area was added with custom built-in cabinetry that reflects the era of the house.
In the existing kitchen, we custom designed all new cabinetry. New cabinetry included two custom pantries featuring large vintage Chinese Carved Wooden Doors, open upper cabinets and an island with a cherry butcher block top. One of the large pantries includes generous pull-out shelves for storage and the other is shallow for a food pantry. The custom cabinets were hand painted.
